Women's Rugby Defeats Delaware in Opening Playoff Game Before Falling to Bloomsburg

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's rugby team shutout Delaware 25-0 in its first playoff game last Saturday, Nov. 3, but eventually fell in its next game 31-19 to Bloomsburg on Sunday, Nov. 4. KU competed in the Marc Division playoffs.
 
There were five different scorers in the victory over Delaware, including one try each from Maddy Forster, Leah Smaha (Hopatcong, N.J./Lenape Valley Regional), Ana Malafu (Kihei, Hawaii/Maui ), Taya Jackson (East Stroudsburg, Pa./East Stroudsburg Area South) and Alexandra Quigg (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee).
 
Against the Huskies, Nicolle Dudkewic (Effort, Pa./Pleasant Valley), Malafu and Jackson each had one try for KU. Kathryne Wasdyke (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Knolls) had one conversion.
 
Kutztown returns to the pitch this Sunday, Nov. 11, in the round of 32.
