POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Kutztown University women's rugby team saw its successful 2018 fall season come to an end with a 40-12 defeat at the hands of Bryant University last Saturday, Nov. 17, in the Sweet 16 at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
 
The Golden Bears finish 8-2 overall and had a seven-game win streak to open up their campaign.
 
In a snowy, muddy field, conditions made it difficult for a Kutztown offense that has scored at least 20 points in a game all but twice, to score.
 
Tamlyn Cowan (Jefferson, N.J./Jefferson Township) and Aysia Grondahl (New Hope, Pa./New Hope-Solebury) each recorded a try for the Maroon and Gold. Alexandra Quigg (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee) tallied one conversion.
 
Kutztown will now prepare for its spring season.
