MILLSBORO, Del. – The 24th-ranked Kutztown University women's bowling team had arguably its best tournament this season thus far this weekend, competing against nine top-25 teams, and KU wrapped up its weekend going 1-2 Sunday morning at the Hawk Classic, hosted by the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
After winning two-of-five matches Friday, all against nationally-ranked opponents, the Golden Bears flipped that number and went 3-2 on Saturday, including a win over No. 23 Monmouth University.
On Sunday, Kutztown opened its best-of-seven baker-match portion of the schedule by downing Mount Saint Mary's 4-1. It then dropped a match 4-0 to No. 19 LIU Brooklyn before seeing its tournament run end at the hands of Mount Saint Mary's 4-2.
KU had a high game score of 237 in the third match against the Mount, but after winning the first game, dropped the next two. Tied two-games apiece, Mount Saint Mary's won the final two games to take the match.
Sophomore
Keanna Delp (Mifflinburg, Pa./Mifflinburg Area) led KU with a high frame average of 19.92. Junior
