KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The 12th-ranked Kutztown University women's soccer team will honor the four members of its senior class prior to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) home match against Pitt-Johnstown at Keystone Field on Saturday, Oct. 27.
Over the past four seasons, this quartet of
Imani Taylor (Voorhees, N.J./Eastern Regional),
Alyssa Ryan (North Wales, Pa./Wissahickon),
Gabrielle Evans (Pottsville, Pa./Pottsville Area) and
Erica Monte Carlo (Sewell, N.J./Washington Township) have been a part of four straight double-digit win seasons, totaling 60 victories thus far. Their teams have qualified for the PSAC Tournament every year, they made the NCAA Tournament twice, and two years ago, helped guide the program to the NCAA Final Four and set a program record in wins in a season with 20.
Taylor is a four-year member of the Golden Bears and is a team captain. She has played in 28 career games in goal for KU, making 23 starts.
Taylor has 13 career shutouts, which is tied for sixth in program history, and her 19 career victories ranks sixth at KU. In 2016, Taylor was voted to the All-NCAA Tournament Team after posting a tournament-high 28 saves across four games.
She will graduate in May with a degree in psychology and minor in Spanish.
Ryan is a two-year team-captain and a four-year member of the Golden Bears. She has played in 79 career games, the eighth-most in program history. She has also started in 60 of those games.
In her four years as a Golden Bear, Ryan has tallied 13 goals and seven assists, including two goals and an assist this season. Last year she was named to the All-PSAC Second Team and to the NCAA All-Atlantic Region Third Team.
In the classroom, Ryan is a six-time member of the Dean's List, a three-time P-S-A-C Scholar-Athlete, and a two-time Division 2 ADA Academic Achievement Award winner. She also earned 2017 CoSIDA Academic All-District honors.
Ryan will graduate in May with a degree in Biology/Pre Med.
Evans is a four-year member of the Golden Bears. She has played in 53 games during her career, making 29 starts, including five this season. Evans is a central part of the Kutztown midfield, which has helped the KU defense allow a P-S-A-C-low five goals all season.
In the classroom, Evans is a three-time P-S-A-C Scholar-Athlete, a six-time member of the Dean's List and a two-time D2ADA Academic Achievement Award winner.
Evans will graduate in May with a degree in Biology/Allied Health.
Monte Carlo is a four-year member of the Golden Bears. She has played in 61 games throughout her career, including in all 17 this season. She has made 35 career starts for KU as a defender.
This season, Monte Carlo leads Kutztown with a career-high five assists, and has totaled nine assists in her career. She is a part of a KU defense that has allowed a PSAC-low five goals this season. During her career, Monte Carlo has been named a P-S-A-C Scholar-Athlete.
Monte Carlo will graduate in May with a degree in Criminal Justice.
The Golden Bears (13-3-1 overall, 11-3-1 PSAC) look to send out their seniors with a victory Saturday, one that would secure a top-four seed in the PSAC Tournament, and another home game next week.
