KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's tennis team wrapped up its Fall season on a brisk Tuesday afternoon at Keystone Courts.
Catherine Maher (Shillington, Pa./Berks Catholic) and
Sarah Grebosky (Reisterstown, Md./Mount De Sales Academy) tallied wins at No. 2 and No. 6 singles respectively to highlight a 5-2 defeat to Saint Thomas Aquinas.
Maher won for the second time this season at the two position in the lineup, by scores of 6-1, 6-0 to take her record to 2-1. Grebosky also won for the second time this year, holding on by scores of 7-6, 6-1. She had her first win this season at No. 4 singles in the season-opener at Clarion on Oct. 5.
The duo also nearly won together at No. 2 doubles, but fell 7-5.
In one of the more exciting matches of the day,
Amanda Grebosky (Reisterstown, Md./Mount De Sales Academy) was edged 6-4, 6-4 at No. 4 singles.
Jillian Siefert (Lenhartsville, Pa./Kutztown Area) and
Ashley Carter (Eynon, Pa./Valley View) won their match at No. 3 doubles 6-4.
Kutztown will be back in action when it plays in its Spring Break Trip next Spring from March 9-15 in Hilton Head, S.C.
