WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's tennis team traveled to West Chester University's South Campus Courts Saturday, dropping a 9-0 decision in its first Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division match of the year.
 
The Golden Bears (2-6, 0-1 PSAC) won five games in doubles action to open the day. The duo of Yasmeen Malik (Wernersville, Pa./Conrad Weiser) and Ashley Carter (Eynon, Pa./Valley View) won the most for KU, taking three games at the No. 3 flight in their 8-3 loss.
 
In singles action, Alicia Pursell (Hamburg, Pa./Hamburg Area) fought hard in her first set to win four games, but fell in a tough 6-4, 6-0 final.
 
Kutztown returns to action on Tuesday, March 28, at Shippensburg University, beginning at 4 p.m.
