Day Two Results | Final Results
KEENE, N.H. – The Kutztown University women's bowling team concluded its season of competition in the second day of the East Coast Conference (ECC) Championships at Yankee Lane on Saturday, March 25, closing the day with a 1-2 record.
Kutztown's (55-63) first double-elimination, bracket-style match of the day resulted in a setback against LIU Post, as the Golden Bears fell in a close competition against the Pioneers, 4-3.
Despite opening with a tough loss, the Maroon and Gold rebounded to take is sole victory of the day against Roberts Wesleyan, sweeping the opponent 4-0.
Kutztown started strong in its final match of the day, jumping to a 2-0 lead against Franklin and Pierce before the Ravens caught fire and rebounded to take the victory 4-2, thus knocking the Golden Bears from contention in the final day of the championships.
Angela Kozma (Beachwood, N.J./Toms River South) led the Maroon and Gold on the weekend, posting a team-high 18.9 frame average over the two days at the ECC Championships, followed by
Jenn Fitts (Birdsboro, Pa./Twin Valley) and freshman
Ella Luzzi (Spring Lake, N.J./Manasquan), with respective frame averages of 17.7.
Alexis Case (Ocean, N.J./Ocean Township) also had an impressive showing in her first major career performance with a 17.1 average.
Kutztown ends the year with 55 wins and is set to graduate one senior,
Allison Seibert (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem). The young Golden Bear roster looks to gain key experience from its memorable 2016-17 season to make a strong return in the 2017-18 season.
