HILTON HEAD, S.C. – Alyssa Konas (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) and Taylor Capoferri (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) gave their opponents all they could handle at No. 1 doubles, while Shadimon Navarro (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) won a team-best six games in singles play in the Kutztown University women's tennis team's 9-0 loss to Belmont Abbey on Thursday.
 
Konas and Capoferri came up short of by a score of 6-8 as they were looking for a team-best second win together this season.
 
Meanwhile, head coach Shari Bucklin-Webber was complimentary of Navarro's effort in a 4-6, 2-6 setback at the sixth flight.
 
Capoferri, Yasmeen Malik (Wernersville, Pa./Conrad Weiser) and Alicia Pursell (Hamburg, Pa./Hamburg Area) won four games each in their respective matches at No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 singles.
 
KU (0-5) wraps up its Spring Break trip in South Carolina tomorrow with a 9 a.m. match against Fairmont State.
