READING, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's bowling team won 2-of-3 matches Sunday morning, closing the weekend of competition at the Golden Bear Classic at Berks Lanes with a 7-6 record.
The Golden Bears (41-48) opened the day with two victories, first defeating Wilmington with their highest team score of the day, a noteworthy 200+ pins over the Wildcats, 861-634. The Maroon and Gold continued their momentum, bouncing back in a baker match to avenge a day-two loss to Chestnut Hill, 924-851.
Kutztown closed the day falling to Caldwell after some tough competition from the Cougars, 1058-950.
A winning day-three record helped the Maroon and Gold climb one spot in tournament standings, clinching sixth place on the weekend.
Angela Kozma (Beachwood, N.J./Toms River South) held an 18.38 frame average in 121 total frames this weekend. She filled 80.99 percent of her frames and converted 80.28 percent of her non-split spares.
KU hits the road for its next weekend of competition on Saturday, Feb. 25, at the Molloy Invite in Mineola, N.Y.
