Game Notes | Live Stats | Watch

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Kutztown University men's basketball team will play its final home game of 2017 on the Keystone Arena floor Saturday, Dec. 9, when it takes on visiting Seton Hill University at 3 p.m. in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) matchup.

The Golden Bears (7-1 overall, 3-1 PSAC) have enjoyed playing on their home court recently, winning all five home contests this season, and 32 of the last 34 games played at Keystone Arena.

KU enters Saturday's game against the Griffins (3-5, 1-3) on a five-game winning streak overall, and is coming off an 87-79 victory over Bowie State last Wednesday, Dec. 6. Redshirt-junior Anthony Lee (Willow Grove, Pa./Abington) led five KU players in double-figures with a game-high 21 points. Sophomore Josh Townsend (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep Charter) recorded the first double-double of his career with 12 points and 10 rebounds, both career-highs. Dan Cuevas (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) (18 points), Rafiq Marshall (Philadelphia, Pa./Simon Gratz (Cheyney)) (12) and Ethan Ridgeway (West Chester, Pa./Bayard Rustin) (10) also tallied double-digits in points.

Lee is averaging 20.9 points per game (ppg), good for eighth in the PSAC. His 1,034 career points are tied for 23rd in program history. He ranks first in the conference in 3-point field goal percentage (54.8) and in steals (23).

Ridgeway is second on the team in scoring at 18.8 ppg, and leads the PSAC in assists (60) and assists per game (7.5). He has 952 career points, and his 525 career assists are eight shy of climbing to 12th in PSAC history.

Cuevas (17.0 ppg) is the third Golden Bears player to average in double-figures in scoring and has reached the double-digit plateau in all seven games he has played this season. He is sixth in the PSAC shooting 61.0 percent from the field.

Moe Williams (Townsend, Del./Life Center Academy) (6.9 ppg) leads the team with 10 blocks, fifth in the PSAC. Marshall is fourth on the team in scoring (7.1 ppg) and third in assists (2.0 apg).

Lee (22-for-23), Ridgeway (40-for-44) and Cuevas (18-for-21) are all shooting 85.7 percent or better from the free-throw line with at least 19 attempts. They all rank inside the top-nine in the PSAC in free-throw percentage for a KU offense that is scoring 86.1 ppg, third in the conference.

Seton Hill comes to Keystone Arena on a two-game losing streak, having dropped its last two games to PSAC opponents last weekend in East Stroudsburg University (109-85) and West Chester University (88-75). Both the Warriors and Golden Rams are 7-0 overall and 4-0 in the PSAC, one game ahead of KU.

The Griffins are led by Trevor Blondin, averaging 18.2 ppg. Spencer Casson and Nathan Davis are both scoring 12.1 ppg, with Casson leading the team in both rebounds per game (8.1) and blocks per game (3.5). The 3.5 bpg by Casson leads the PSAC.

Seton Hill is in the bottom five in the conference in both offensive and defensive statistics. The Griffins are scoring 72.6 ppg and allowing 84.3 ppg, which is a welcoming sign for a KU offense that loves to get out and run and put up points at a quick pace.

After Saturday's game, Kutztown is off until after Christmas. It will return to the court at West Chester on Saturday, Dec. 30 at 3 p.m.
