PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Kutztown University women's tennis team fell in a non-conference match at the University of the Sciences, 8-1, Thursday afternoon at McNeil Tennis Courts.
 
The Golden Bears (3-12, 2-3 PSAC) picked up an 8-1 doubles-victory out of the No. 3 spot by Vicki Norman (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion) and Shadimon Navarro (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall).
 
The duos of Alyssa Konas (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) and Kara Urland (Saylorsburg, Pa./Pleasant Valley), and Jessica Caples (McSherrystown, Pa./New Oxford) and Ashley Carter (Eynon, Pa./Valley View) both fell 8-3 in their doubles matches.
 
Caples was the top performer in singles play, picking up a set in a 6-3, 3-6, 7-10, defeat out of the No. 4 spot.  Ashley Carter (Eynon, Pa./Valley View) found hard in falling 4-6, 3-6, out of the No. 5 spot. 
 
KU returns to Keystone Courts for its Senior Day with a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) match against East Stroudsburg University Saturday, April 16 at 11:30 a.m.  The Golden Bears close out their season with a road match against Harford Community College Friday, April 29 at 2:30 p.m.
