EAST BRUNSWICK, N.J. - The 17th-ranked Kutztown University women's bowling team had a successful outing on Saturday, posting three wins, including two over nationally-ranked teams, in the second day of the FDU Jamboree.

Kutztown (9-15) started off the day with a tight 917-910 victory over No. 22 Prairie View A&M. It then took down Howard (845-748) and No. 15 Saint Francis (854-818) before falling to Lincoln Memorial in its final match of the day, 961-849.

Jenn Fitts (Birdsboro, Pa./Twin Valley) led the way for KU, posting an average score of 192.80 in her five games on Saturday. She posted a team-high score of 202 in KU's win opening win of the day.

Angela Kozma (Beachwood, N.J./Toms River South) and
Jess Garzio (Ewing, N.J./Ewing) both contributed to KU's success on Saturday with averages of 177.80 and 173.00, respectively. Kozma bowled a 201 in the win over Prairie View A&M and a 199 in KU's final match of the day against Lincoln Memorial. Garzio was consistent all day, posting scores between 166 and 180 in all five of her games.

The Golden Bears finished day two of the FDU Jamboree in 17th place out of 27 teams with a 4-5 record and a total pinfall of 8,515. Fairleigh Dickinson sits in first with a 10-0 mark and a pinfall of 9,733. Sam Houston State, Long Island, Sacred Heart and Monmouth round out the top-five heading into Sunday.

KU resumes competition tomorrow, Sunday Oct. 30, at 8:30 a.m. in the third and final day of the FDU Jamboree.
