The Golden Bears (29-26) opened the day with a score of 986 during a bye round, their highest score of the day. They ended the day with an 0-4 record after losses to third-ranked Vanderbilt, 1057-918, 15th-ranked Valparaiso, 1061-963, 17th-ranked Monmouth, 988-878, and 10th-ranked Maryland Eastern Shore, 993-857.
Senior captain
Taylor Strothmann (Maywood, N.J./Immaculate Heart Academy) led the team with an average of 196.4 on Sunday, 3.7 pins above the tournament average for the day. She bowled three 200+ games with a high of 235 against Valparaiso. It was the 26th-best average overall.
Lauren Stamm (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin) and
Amanda Wilson (Leesport, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) held near-identical averages of 187.6 and 186.8, respectively.
Kayla Maselkevich (Drums, Pa./Hazleton Area) averaged a 179.6.
Kutztown returns to action next weekend, Jan. 29-31, in Altoona, Pa. at the Red Flash Invitational, hosted by Saint Francis University (PA).
