Photo Gallery | VIDEO: Aerial View of Race StartTeam Results | Individual ResultsKUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's cross country team earned a fourth-place finish out of 10 teams on Saturday morning in the sixth-annual 6K Division II/III Challenge hosted by the Golden Bears at the Farm Course on North Campus.
Senior
Corinne Manela (Philadelphia, Pa./Saint Basil Academy) once again led the way for Kutztown, finishing in fourth place individually with a time of 23:03.8. She finished with the best time and highest finish for any Kutztown runner to ever compete in the Division II/III Challenge.
Freshman
Stephanie Bresadola (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) captured the second-best time for KU, finishing in 15th with an impressive 24:28.9 mark.
Freshmen
Amanda Ferraro (Howell, N.J./Howell) and
Alexis Dongvort (Schnecksville, Pa./Parkland) placed 33rd and 40th, respectively, completing the course in 25:19.7 and 25:35.4.
Next,
Olivia Dettore (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West) ran 25:39.3 and placed 44th, while
Kimberly Katzgrau (Oak Ridge, N.J./Pope John XXIII) finished in 48th at the 25:55.0 mark.
The Golden Bear contingent was rounded out by
Lauren Rothstein (Warwick, N.Y./Warwick Valley),
Julie Stratton (Stratford, N.J./Sterling) and
Toni Ritrovato (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin). Rothstein placed 60th at 26:58.1, Stratton was 69th at 27:46.6, and Ritrovato crossed the finish line at 28:39.3 in 77th.
No. 17-ranked Stonehill captured the team crown on Saturday, finishing with six of its runners amongst the first 12 to complete the course. Nicole Borofski of Stonehill ran 22:41.8, nearly 15 seconds ahead of the rest of the field, to take home the individual title.
Kutztown returns to action at the Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh University on Oct. 2 at 1 p.m. in Bethlehem, Pa.
