Box Score MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's tennis team competed in its last match of the 2014-15 campaign on Friday, dropping a 7-1 decision at the hands of Millersville University on McComsey Tennis Courts.
The Golden Bears finish with a 4-11 record and a 1-5 mark in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC), with two victories coming during the spring season.
Millersville (7-10) got off to a 3-0 start after doubles play with wins at the top two flights, and a forfeit at No. 3 doubles. KU's
Vicki Norman and
Emily Wesoloski battled to win three games at No. 1 doubles in an 8-3 setback, while
Caitlin Davies and
Jessica Caples dropped the No. 2 doubles match, 8-1.
In singles competition, Caples scrapped with Kimberly Theophile at No. 2 singles, but was unable close out a set. Caples came away with eight games in a 6-4, 6-4 defeat.
Danielle Patterson won a game in each set at the fourth singles flight against Heather Grove. Wesoloski scored KU's lone team point with Millersville's forfeit at No. 5 singles.
