NEC Championship Central HOWELL, N.J. – The 19th-ranked Kutztown University women's bowling team dropped both of its matches on the opening day of the Northeast Conference (NEC) Championships on Saturday, wrapping up another winning season for the Golden Bears.
Kutztown (58-52) competed in its seventh straight NEC Tournament this year. KU was the sixth seed and opened the day with a 4-0 loss to third-seeded Sacred Heart. Its next match of the double elimination tournament was against fifth-seeded LIU Brooklyn in an elimination match. Unfortunately for the Golden Bears, LIU took the 4-2 win to knock out KU.
Five seniors wrapped up their career with Kutztown on Saturday. The quintet of
Rikki Cohen,
Christine Gordon,
Khrystyna Liske,
Nichole Mann and
Allison Seidel led KU to its seventh straight winning season in 2014-15.
Kutztown is expected to return 12 bowlers for next year including seven entering their senior season.
