KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's bowling team has grown to one of the most consistent presences in the postseason that the Northeast Conference (NEC) has to offer. It qualified for the conference tournament once again this year, and has nothing to lose with everything to gain.
 
The Golden Bears (58-50) are ranked 19th in the latest National Ten Pin Coaches Association (NTCA) monthly poll. They have hovered between 15 and 19 for most of the season and enter a tournament where all six competing teams are ranked in the top 20.
 
Fairleigh Dickinson remains the nation's No. 2 team. Defending NEC Tournament champion Saint Francis University is the next highest-ranked NEC team at No. 12. Sacred Heart (13), LIU Brooklyn (14) and St. Francis Brooklyn (15) follow in order. No. 19 Kutztown rounds outs the NEC's top-20 representation.
 
The 2015 NEC Championship Tournament takes place on March 21 & 22 at Howell Lanes in Howell, N.J. For live coverage throughout the weekend, be sure to follow @KUBowling and @NECBowl on Twitter. The entire championship will air live on NEC Front Row.
 
KU matched its preseason pick in the NEC at sixth of the eight teams. KU tied for the final spot in the tournament, but held the tiebreaker over Adelphi to qualify for the trip to New Jersey.
 
The Golden Bears search for their first NEC Tournament Championship, as their best finish was a runner-up performance in their first year in the tournament in 2009.
 
This weekend marks the final meet of the season for KU, who has clinched a winning season for the seventh straight year. It also marks the final collegiate meet for KU seniors Rikki Cohen, Christine Gordon, Khrystyna Liske, Nichole Mann and Allison Seidel.
