ResultsSTRATFORD, N.J. – The 18th-ranked Kutztown University women's bowling team opened up postseason play on Saturday in the first day of the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) Team Sectionals in New Jersey.
The Golden Bears bowled in 32 baker games, but only four head-to-head matches were against NCAA teams to count in the team's standings. KU went 1-3 against NCAA teams and stands in 11th of place of 15 overall programs with a score of 5771. North Carolina A&T leads the way at 6177.
All four of Kutztown's NCAA opponents on Saturday were nationally-ranked. Kutztown opened the day with a 648-764 setback to 12th-ranked Sacred Heart, but rallied with a 782-753 win over 10th-ranked North Carolina A&T. KU ended the day with a 713-781 loss to No. 15 LIU Brooklyn and a 676-731 defeat at the hands of 20th-ranked Delaware State.
Action concludes tomorrow, Sunday March 15.
