Men's Basketball Prepares for Road Game at Millersville

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Kutztown University men's basketball team looks to continue its strong start to the 2015-16 season in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) matchup at Millersville on Tuesday, Dec. 1 at 7:30 p.m.
 
Kutztown (3-1, 2-1 PSAC) heads into the road contest following a heartbreaking one-point loss (71-70) in overtime at Mercyhurst on Sunday, Nov. 22. The Golden Bears started off the season with three consecutive wins, averaging over 105 points per game.
 
KU currently leads the PSAC in scoring offense at 96.8 points per game and scoring margin at 24.3. The Golden Bears are currently tied for third in the PSAC East standings at 2-1, one game behind West Chester and Bloomsburg. Millersville is also 2-1 in the conference, despite having a 2-4 overall record.
 
Redshirt-junior Ryan Connolly (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton Area) leads Kutztown in scoring with 16.8 points per game (12th in PSAC) on 58 percent shooting from the field. He leads the team in three pointers made with 12 and is shooting 83 percent from the free throw line. He is also shooting 52 percent from behind the arc (3rd in PSAC). Connolly is second on the team in rebounding at 5.3 per game and has recorded six blocks.
 
Preseason All-PSAC East forward Josh Johnson (Norristown, Pa./Norristown) has started off strong, averaging 15.8 points (17th in PSAC) and a team-high 9.3 rebounds (T-5th in PSAC). He is shooting 57 percent from the field and is tied for the team lead with five steals.
 
Sophomore guard Ethan Ridgeway (West Chester, Pa./Bayard Rustin) has been a huge sparkplug off the bench for the Golden Bears in the first four games of the season. He is third on the team with 13.5 points per game, second with 3.25 assists a game and second with 1.5 three pointers made per game.
 
A trio of Golden Bears is averaging between nine and 10 points per game. Senior forward Anthony Selby (Jersey City, N.J./Williamstown (Burlington County CC)) is averaging 9.5 points per game, while freshman Dan Cuevas (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) is at 9.3 and Austin Beidelman (Schnecksville, Pa./Parkland) is averaging 9.0.
 
Selby is shooting at an impressive 68 percent clip from the field and leads the team with 10 blocked shots. Beidelman is shooting 88 percent from the line, is averaging 4.8 rebounds a game and leads the team with 3.5 assists per game.
 
Kutztown will look to improve to 4-1 overall and 3-1 in the PSAC in its matchup on Tuesday night. The Golden Bears are also looking for their third consecutive win over the Marauders dating back to last season.
