EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – Six different Golden Bears recorded three or more kills on Tuesday night, as the Kutztown University women's volleyball team defeated East Stroudsburg University, 3-2, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) match held inside Koehler Fieldhouse.
Kutztown (8-22, 5-13 PSAC) defeated East Stroudsburg (7-21, 2-16) by set scores of 25-21, 16-25, 25-22, 18-25 and 15-12.
One of the biggest factors in the match was each team's service performance. The Warriors had 17 service errors compared to just five for the Golden Bears.
Additionally, KU had 25 attack errors while ESU recorded 37, and KU held a 14-7 advantage in team blocks.
Freshman
Jessica Howe (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg Area) tallied a team-high 11 kills and recorded nine assists. Junior
Zandria Zielinski (York, Pa./York Catholic) notched three kills and reached the 200-career block milestone for her career after tying her career high with a match-best seven total blocks.
Senior
Audrey Stringer (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) totaled nine kills and five blocks.
Niki Carpenter (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion Area) finished with three kills, three blocks and two digs.
Shannon Restrepo (Reading, Pa./Exeter Township) notched 11 assists, five kills, three blocks, nine digs and two service aces.
Tori Wakelee (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown East) had three kills, three blocks and three digs.
Junior
Anna Conti (Grove City, Ohio/Grove City) tallied a team-best 14 assists while recording nine digs.
Madison Brake (Reynoldsburg, Ohio/Bishop Hartley) recorded a team-high 19 digs, and moves up to eighth in KU history for digs in a single season (443).
Up next, the Maroon and Gold travel to Pitt-Johnstown on Friday, Nov. 6 to take on the Mountain Cats at 7 p.m.
