MILLSBORO, Del. – The 16th-ranked Kutztown University women's bowling team won two more matches on Saturday at the UMES Hawk Classic, giving it four total wins thus far in the event.
Kutztown (23-15) had a 2-4 record at the classic for the second consecutive day. The Golden Bears started the day with a 907-856 win over Howard and finished the day with their final victory, an 890-846 decision over 15th-ranked Sacred Heart.
Three of the four Golden Bear losses on Saturday were against nationally-ranked teams. KU dropped matches to 12th-ranked Maryland Eastern Shore (778-873), Morgan State (849-853), 10th-ranked Delaware State (928-974) and 22nd-ranked Monmouth (892-968).
Senior Taylor Strothman led KU to its first win, bowling a team-high 206 against Howard. Freshman
Renee Riffey (Glen Burnie, Md./North County) had a team-high 203 in KU's win over Sacred Heart.
Lauren Stamm (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin) was impressive yet again for Kutztown, bowling four games over 185 and two over 210. She had the best performances of the day for KU with a 213 against Delaware State and a 233 against Monmouth.

Kayla Maselkevich (Drums, Pa./Hazleton Area) were the lone bowlers for KU that competed in all six matches.
Kutztown returns to the lanes tomorrow morning, Sunday, Nov. 22, at the UMES Hawk Classic at 8:25 a.m. for the final day of competition.
