EAST BRUNSWICK, N.J. – The 18th-ranked Kutztown University women's bowling team went 1-1 against ranked competition on Sunday to finish in 13th place at the three-day FDU Jamboree.
The Golden Bears (19-7) had rematches with two teams they faced on Saturday. They fell again to former Northeast Conference foe, 13th-ranked Saint Francis (PA), 4-2, and took down 15th-ranked Valparaiso, 4-1, for the second straight day.
Kutztown led Saint Francis (PA), 2-1, but dropped the next three games in its defeat. KU responded by winning the first three games vs. Valparaiso in a 4-1 win.
KU finished 6-6 through the three-day tournament. Through its first 26 matches, 16 of them have been against top-20 competition. KU holds a 10-6 record vs. ranked teams and 9-1 vs. non-ranked teams.
The Golden Bears take a couple weeks off from competition before traveling to the UMES Hawk Classic in Millsboro, Del. on Nov. 20-22.
