KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Senior
Audrey Stringer (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) led the Kutztown University women's volleyball team with 12 kills on Tuesday night, as the Golden Bears swept East Stroudsburg University in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) match held inside Keystone Arena.
Kutztown (4-13, 2-5 PSAC) defeated East Stroudsburg (6-11, 1-6 PSAC) by set scores of 25-14, 25-19 and 27-25. The Golden Bears were in control and led for the majority of each set. They never trailed by more than one point.
Stringer's 12 kills pushed her career total up to 948. She also recorded five blocks and hit .647. Her 189 kills this season currently ranks fourth in the PSAC and her 3.32 kills per set ranks ninth.
Freshman
Shannon Restrepo (Reading, Pa./Exeter Township) tallied eight kills, 15 assists, five digs, and a match-high four service aces.
Anna Conti (Grove City, Ohio/Grove City) finished with 15 assists, six digs and three aces.
Niki Carpenter (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion Area) recorded three kills and a season-high seven blocks, while
Madison Brake (Reynoldsburg, Ohio/Bishop Hartley) totaled 14 digs.
Tori Wakelee (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown East) finished with five kills, and
Zandria Zielinski (York, Pa./York Catholic) and
Jessica Howe (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg Area) recorded four kills apiece.
The Golden Bears host the Bald Eagles of Lock Haven on Friday, Oct. 9 at 7 p.m. at Keystone Arena.
