Results BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Senior
Corinne Manela (Philadelphia, Pa./Saint Basil Academy) ran the fastest time of her career in the 6K on Friday afternoon at the Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh University.
Manela finished 10th in the race out of 387 runners with a personal-best time of 21:49 in the 6K race. She moves into second all-time in program history at the Paul Short Run, only behind Kristen Cupido's mark of 21:38 in 2009. Manela's 10th place finish is the best for a KU runner at the Paul Short Invitational since Jayme Daly finished eighth in 2011. Manela was one of six runners from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) to crack the top 10 in the field.
Kutztown placed 26th as a team out of 45. Freshman
Stephanie Bresadola (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) was the second fastest runner for KU, finishing in 114th place in a season-best 23:03, followed by teammate
Amanda Ferraro (Howell, N.J./Howell), who also set a season-best time at 23:05 and finished in 118th place.
Sophomore
Olivia Dettore (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West) finished in 184th place with a time of 23:41.
Kimberly Katzgrau (Oak Ridge, N.J./Pope John XXIII) placed 234th with a time of 24:13.
Alexis Dongvort (Schnecksville, Pa./Parkland) (250th) and
Lauren Rothstein (Warwick, N.Y./Warwick Valley) (253rd) rounded out the finishers for Kutztown. Both Dongvort and Rothstein set season-best marks in the 6K with times of 24:26 and 24:27, respectively.
Kutztown's next race is on Saturday, Oct. 10 at 11:15 a.m. at the Bulldog Invitational held at DeSales University.
