NEWARK, Del. – Senior
Audrey Stringer (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) recorded a match-high 19 kills on Tuesday night, but it was not enough as the Kutztown University women's volleyball team fell 3-1 in a non-conference match at Wilmington University (Del.).
Kutztown (4-16) showed great composure in set three as it trailed 24-18, up against match point, but rattled off eight-consecutive points to win its lone set of the night, 26-24.
Wilmington (Del.) (14-6) took the opening set 25-17 and trailed 11-9 in the second set before embarking on an 8-0 run to take a 17-11 lead. The Wildcats ultimately won the second frame, 25-21. They took the fourth and final set by a score of 25-19.
With Stringer's performance on Tuesday, she is now 16 kills shy of becoming the seventh player in KU history to reach the 1,000-career kill milestone. Additionally, she finished the match with five blocks and five digs. She now has 345 career blocks, good for seventh in KU history.

Shannon Restrepo (Reading, Pa./Exeter Township) recorded her second double-double in a row with 22 assists and a season-best 28 digs, while also contributing five kills and two blocks.

Jessica Howe (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg Area) tallied 10 kills, four digs and three blocks.
Tori Wakelee (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown East) and
Niki Carpenter (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion Area) recorded five kills apiece.
Anna Conti (Grove City, Ohio/Grove City) totaled 17 assists, nine digs and two service aces, while
Madison Brake (Reynoldsburg, Ohio/Bishop Hartley) contributed 21 digs.
The Golden Bears host a PSAC crossover this weekend and begin play against Slippery Rock on Friday, Oct. 16 at 11:30 a.m. inside Keystone Arena. KU will then host Edinboro Friday night at 7:30 p.m. before playing two additional matches on Saturday.
