ALTOONA, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's bowling team went undefeated in its five matches on Friday to highlight the Red Flash Invitational after the first day of competition.
 
The Golden Bears (40-33) entered the weekend as one of the favorites to win the invite, and backed it up in their five matches on Friday. They defeated Hampton (953-711), Penn State Altoona (920-602), 19th-ranked Norfolk State (838-804), Pitt-Bradford (892-713) and Coppin State (915-716), all by comfortable margins.
 
Kutztown was the only team to go 5-0 in the 12-team invite, but stands in second place in total pinfall behind the host, Saint Francis (PA). KU finished the day at 4,518, while Saint Francis (PA) posted a pinfall of 4,593 with a 4-1 match record. The two conference foes are expected to face off in Sunday's final.
