Kutztown Lacrosse Falls to PSAC Rival Seton Hill

Box Score

Seton Hill 15, Kutztown 5 (HTML Box Score)

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Seton Hill University scored a quick five goals to start Saturday's game at Keystone Field and simply never looked back in a 15-5 final, picking up its third Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC)  win this season, leaving the Kutztown University women's lacrosse team still searching for its first.

The Maroon and Gold (2-8, 0-6 PSAC) got their offense rolling with an unassisted goal by Brielle Dickey (Sewell, NJ/Washington Township), but never seemed to pick up a rhythm as a squad.  Seton Hill (8-4, 3-4 PSAC) showed poise and composure on the defensive side of the ball and it showed to be too much for the Golden Bears to handle.

The offensive attack for Kutztown was led by Morgan Bright (Columbia, PA/Hempfield) and Taylor Sandin (Freehold, NJ/Colts Neck), who each notched a goal, and Jillian Spencer (Sewell, NJ/Washington Township), who ended the contest with two goals and an assist.  Spencer has been a consistent offensive threat for Kutztown, as she now has 21 goals and six assists on the season giving her a total of 27 points on the season.  Senior JoAnn McLaughlin (Cape May, NJ/Lower Cape) was also able to pick up 12 saves in the game against the high-octane Griffin offense.

Seton Hill was headed by the offensive attack of Emma Summers, who had four goals, and Morgan Cain, who netted three goals.  Renee Kania, Emily Fagan, and Christine Palmeri also did their part with adding two goals each.

Kutztown will look to break out of its six game slump against a non-conference opponent at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania against Holy Family.  The game is set to begin at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, April 7.
