KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's tennis team took on Cheyney University in a pair of Tuesday afternoon matches at the Keystone Courts. The Golden Bears earned two 9-0 victories over the Wolves while earning their first Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division win of the season.

Kutztown (6-4, 1-0 PSAC East), the defending PSAC East Champions, played the first match against Cheyney (0-2, 0-1) as a conference match and the second as non-conference. Each of Kutztown's wins came in straight sets while not allowing any points. Due to daylight, the second match was played with eight-game pro sets.

In singles action, Hannah Pipkin (Landisville, Pa./Hempfield), Tori Zander (Pennsburg, PA/Upper Perkiomen), Alyssa Konas (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield), Chelsea Davis (Spring City, Pa./Spring-Ford) and Cynthia Good (Montrose, Pa./Elk Lake) all earned two wins on the day. Erika Diffendall (Mountville, Pa./Lancaster Catholic) and Danielle Patterson (Larksville, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) swapped starts in singles action.

In doubles play, the team of Pipkin and Zander at No. 1, and Konas and Davis at No. 2 each earned 8-0 wins. Patterson and Good teamed for one of the No. 3 wins, while Diffendall and Good were tabbed with the other.
