LONG ISLAND, N.Y. – The 11th-ranked Kutztown University women's bowling team won three matches at the final Northeast Conference (NEC) regular season meet of the season on Saturday and clinched one of six spots in the NEC Championships later this month.
 
The Golden Bears (66-37, 12-9 NEC) will compete in the NEC Championship on March 22-23 for the sixth straight year. It currently ranks third in the conference at 12-9 with St. Francis (PA) and Fairleigh Dickinson leading the way with 15 wins apiece. Six of the seven teams in the NEC will compete at the conference championships.
 
Kutztown opened the day with a setback to FDU (1039-939), but rallied by winning three of its next four matches. It defeated LIU Brooklyn with its top score of the day (1010-924), along with Sacred Heart (957-948) and St. Francis (NY) (879-774). It dropped a match to Saint Francis (PA), 972-945.
 
The third and final NEC regular season meet concludes on Sunday, March 2 for final seeding for the conference championships.
