KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's bowling team will compete in the United States Bowling Conference (USBC) Team Nationals for the third consecutive year this weekend.
The 12th-ranked Golden Bears (76-41) advanced to the USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships after finishing third at the Allentown (Pa.) Sectional.
Junior
Brooke Bower (Camp Hill, PA/Cedar Cliff) has held a 201.86 traditional average for 50 games this season, placing her 21st in the nation among all NCAA players to lead KU.
“We are very excited to have qualified for USBC Team Championships for the third straight season,” said head coach
Joseph Ambrose. “Anytime you get to win a National Title, it's an awesome thing and great experience for our team.”
The Golden Bear roster for the USBC Team Nationals includes: Bower,
Jara Cohen (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee),
Deanna DiRado (Greensburg, PA/Greensburg Salem),
Christine Gordon (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East),
Rebecca Velazquez (Mohegan Lake, NY/Lakeland),
Lauren Stamm (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin),
Kayla Maselkevich (Drums, Pa./Hazleton Area), and
Rikki Cohen (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee).
“We have practiced hard the past few weeks in preparation and we can't wait to get there,” said Ambrose.
The USBC Team Nationals begins Thursday, April 18 and ends Saturday, April 20 at Sun Valley Lanes in Lincoln, Neb.
