Ridhima Borooah (Guwahati-Assam, India/Modern School; Barakhamba Road; New Delhi) and
Hannah Pipkin (Landisville, Pa./Hempfield) continued to bring the heat as a duo during the spring break competition at the Hilton Head Beach and Tennis Resort, but the Kutztown University women's tennis team could not hold against Slippery Rock Wednesday, falling 6-3.
Borooah boasted her fourth singles victory on the season to lead the Golden Bears (1-4) when she defeated Kasey Love of Slippery Rock 6-0, 6-0. The Rocks stand at 4-4 overall.
Chelsea Davis (Spring City, Pa./Spring-Ford) was the only other Golden Bear to pick up a win in singles competition on the afternoon, defeating Slippery Rock's Samantha Bruggeman 7-6 after Bruggerman had to retire.
Borooah and Pipkin improved their doubles season record to 3-2 when they beat Slippery Rock's Sarah Joumond and Love 6-8 for a second consecutive win during the spring break competition.
The Golden Bears continue spring break play tomorrow, Thursday, March 21 against Centre College starting at 8 a.m.
