PETERSBURG, Va. – Kutztown managed just five hits and stranded 11 runners in a 4-0 non-conference loss to Virginia State Sunday afternoon.

Vikings pitcher Joshua Markins went the distance, striking out three and walking five for the complete-game win.

Center fielder Brandon Martinez (Lansdale, PA/North Penn) had three of KU's five hits, along with a stolen base.  The Golden Bears stranded runners at second and third in the first two innings, then loaded the bases in the sixth and ninth innings

VSU scored twiced in the third then single runs in the fifth and eight innings to secure the win.
