SERIES HISTORY: Saturday marks the 29th meeting between the Golden Bears and the Bald Eagles, dating back to 1930. Kutztown holds a five-game winning streak in the head-to-head series, but Saturday will mark the first game the teams meet as Eastern Division foes. Lock Haven's last win in the series was a 21-14 victory in 2002 at Lock Haven. The teams met in 2010 & 2011, when Kutztown held an average winning margin of 34 points.
CONFERENCE WIDE HONORS: Junior
Zach Greenwald (Gibbstown, N.J./Paulsboro) was named this week's PSAC Eastern Division Athlete of the Week. He had a season-high 10 tackles against Millersville, three tackles-for-loss, and scooped up a fumble by the Millersville quarterback and took it 22 yards for a touchdown.
DRIVING THEM BACKWARDS: Zach Greenwald (Gibbstown, N.J./Paulsboro) leads Division II with 19.5 tackles for loss, averaging 2.2 per game. It ranks second on Kutztown's single-season leaderboard, behind Brett Moss' 25.0 in 2011. Greenwald is also third in the PSAC with seven sacks.
2,000-YARD CLUB: Curtis Wortham (Philadelphia, PA/Father Judge) has rushed for 1,918 yards in his four-year career. He needs 82 yards to be the 11th player in school history to rush for 2,000 yards. He rushed for a career-high 932 yards in 2012.
TAKE IT TO THE HOUSE: Curtis Wortham (Philadelphia, PA/Father Judge) returned a 91-yard kickoff for a touchdown against Millersville, the second of his career. He is one of seven players in the PSAC with a kickoff return for a touchdown, and one of two players in school history with two in a career (
Josh Mastromatto (Fort Washington, PA/Upper Dublin)). It is the third straight year that Kutztown has returned a kickoff for a touchdown. For his career, Wortham ranks third in school history with 1,313 kickoff return yards.
NOT TOO SHABBY: Freshman
Alex Tonnies (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth) is second in the PSAC with 65 catches this season. He needs three catches to move into third place in school history in single-season receptions, and can move to second place with five catches. The school-record is 86 by Mark Steinmeyer in 1990.
SIDELINE-TO-SIDELINE: Sam Dixon-Dougan has led Kutztown in tackles in five games this season. He is third in the PSAC with 84 total tackles and is fifth with 13.5 tackles for loss. Notably, 59 (70.2%) of his tackles have been on rushing plays.
