KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Kutztown University's Ridhima Borooah (Guwahati-Assam, India/Modern School; Barakhamba Road; New Delhi) (Guwahati-Assam, India/Modern School) won in straight sets at second singles, but it was not enough as Mercyhurst downed the Golden Bears 8-1.

Borooah was a 6-4, 6-3 winner over Courtney Thompson at second singles for KU's only point.
 
Two other Golden Bears pushed their matches to third sets.  Hannah Pipkin (Landisville, Pa./Hempfield) (Landisville, Pa./Hempfield) rebounded to win the second set, but Caroline Bristol held on to win 6-0, 4-6, 6-1.  Rachel Grula (Drums, PA/Hazleton Area) (Drums, Pa./Hazleton) won the first set, but Rebecca Haener took the next two for a 5-7, 6-1, 6-3 victory.
 
Kutztown will play in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Quarterfinals on April 17.
