RESULTS
KUTZTOWN, Pa. (March 30, 2012)—The Kutztown University women's tennis team defeated East Stroudsburg University, 7-2 on Friday afternoon at Keystone Court to cap its second consecutive Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East Division win.
The Golden Bears (5-7 overall, 2-0 PSAC) took five of the six singles matches against the Warriors (1-13, 0-1).
Stefanie Fisher (New Holland, PA/Garden Spot) (New Holland, PA/ Garden Spot) defeated Belinda Nguyen in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0.
Ridhima Borooah (Guwahati-Assam, India/Modern School; Barakhamba Road; New Delhi) (Guwahati-Assam, India/ Modern School; Barakhamba Road; New Delhi) had the upper hand in her 6-1, 6-0 win over Allison Bean.
Chelsea White (Landenberg, PA/Avon Grove) (Landenberg, PA/ Avon Grove) won 6-1, 7-6 over E. Longenhagen.
Jennifer Stow (Glen Mills, PA/Garnet Valley)(Glen Mills, PA/ Garnet Valley) and
Rachel Grula (Drums, PA/Hazleton Area) (Drums, PA/ Hazelton Area) went the distance in the singles matches but came out victorious. Stow dropped the first set 4-6, but rebounded with 6-2, 11-9 wins against Taylor Presby. Grula also loss the first set 5-7, but came back with 6-0, 10-5 victories. ESU's Amanda Kaufman defeated
Hannah Pipkin (Landisville, Pa./Hempfield) (Landisville, PA/ Hempfield) 6-3, 6-4. Pipkin won the first set 6-2.
In doubles action, the Golden Bears grabbed two wins as Pipkin and Borooah teamed up to take an 8-0 decision over Kaufman and Bean.
Tori Zander (Pennsburg, PA/Upper Perkiomen) (Pennsburg, PA/ Upper Perkiomen) and White defeated Rebecca Lausch and Longenhagen 9-7. East Stroudburg's Annie Vega and Presby took the third match with a 9-7 win over Grula and Fisher.
The Golden Bears will travel to West Chester on Sunday, April 1 to take on the Golden Rams for a match starting at noon.
