ALTOONA, Pa. (February 4, 2012)—The Kutztown University women's bowling team went 3-2 at the second Northeast Conference (NEC) Meet in Altoona on Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Bears (38-26) are currently seventh in the NEC. Saturday's action featured five baker matches where KU had a pinfall of 4589. In its first match, KU defeated Fairleigh Dickinson University 870-845 who is second in the National TenPin Coaches Association (NTCA) Media Poll.
No. 14 Kutztown also defeated St. Francis (PA) 929-901 and No.20 St. Francis (NY) 969-870. The Golden Bears dropped a 1056-901 decision to No. 3 Sacred Heart University who currently leads the NEC. Kutztown also fell to St. Peter's 966-911.
KU is now 6-8 in conference play and will face Adelphi, New Jersey City, Monmouth and Long Island on Sunday for four quint-baker matches starting at 9 a.m.
