LOCK HAVEN, Pa. (April 16, 2011) – In a driving rain and wind storm, the Kutztown University women's lacrosse team dropped a 17-3 decision to Lock Haven University in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) contest Saturday afternoon. (BOXSCORE)
The Golden Bears (5-9 overall, 0-9 PSAC) battled hard in the tough conditions. Kutztown got goals from Megan Schwar (Alpha, NJ/Phillipsburg), Emily Solt (Bowmanstown, PA/Concord), and Lauren Schlitt (Baldwin, NY/Oceanside). Schwar also contributed an assist for the Golden Bears, who managed eight shots. Goalie JoAnn McLaughlin (Cape May, NJ/Lower Cape) made 11 saves and had five ground balls. Randy Vite (Highland Mills, NY/Monroe-Woodbury) also picked up four ground balls for the Golden Bears.
Kutztown returns to action Monday afternoon when it hosts Edinboro University in a PSAC make-up game from April 6. The contest starts at 3 p.m.
