KUTZTOWN, PA (April 10, 2010) – The Kutztown University women's tennis team controlled the courts on Saturday against Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East rival East Stroudsburg. The Golden Bears won 9-0.
Saturday's match against East Stroudsburg featured dominating play across the board for Kutztown, with the Golden Bears winning every single match in both singles and doubles play.
Kutztown (8-6, 4-1) jumped to a 3-0 lead after doubles. The tag team of Rohini Das and Ridhima Borooah were 8-2 winners at the No. 1 doubles spot. Nicole Devine teamed up with Rachel Grula to earn an 8-4 victory in the No. 2 doubles spot. Megan Groh and Tess Wright earned their win by default.
In singles play, the women continued their undefeated streak. In the No. 1 singles, Das won 6-2 and 6-1. Both Borooah and Sabrina Arnaud were 6-0 and 6-1 in the No. 2 and No. 3 singles spot. Devine earned a 10-5 victory at No. 4 singles. Groh defeated her opponent 10-4 in the No. 5 singles. At No. 6 singles, Wright won her match by default.
Kutztown returns to action at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 13 when they host their last home game of the season, against PSAC East rival Bloomsburg Huskies (9-3, 3-0).
