KU wins ninth straight with win over Millersville

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - The Kutztown University men's basketball team continued rolling, with a 77-61 win over Millersville Saturday afternoon.

Andre Woodlin (sr. Philadelphia/Central) scored 22 points and Dave Ben (sr. Coatesville/Coatesville) added 20 to lead the Golden Bears, who won their ninth straight game and 20th overall, one short of KU's single-season record for wins.  Stephen Dennis (West Chester, PA/Henderson) (jr. West Chester/Henderson) notched 14 points and Mark Bower (sr. West Deptford, N.J./West Deptford) added 13 to round out KU's scoring leaders.

Kutztown retained sole possession of first place in the PSAC East, improving to 9-1 in division play.

Makal Stibbins scored 19 points and grabbed 16 rebounds for Millersville.

Kutztown took control of the game early, building a double-digit advantage less than six minutes into the first half.

The Golden Bears turned a 39-27 halftime advantage into a commanding 52-30 lead less than four minutes into the second half.  Four different players scored for KU during the 13-3 run.

The win was the 57th PSAC Eastern Division victory for head coach Bernie Driscoll, moving past Walt Risley into first place on KU's career division wins chart.  Risley had 56 from the inception of the PSAC in 1952 until 1963.  Driscoll is also two wins away from Risley's overall victory record of 136, which was amassed from 1945-63.

Kutztown returns to the court Wednesday vs. West Chester.  It will be faculty/staff night at Keystone Hall.
