KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The 24th-ranked Kutztown University football team has defeated every team that has stood in front of them so far during the 2019 regular season, and the undefeated record has earned KU a spot among the elite NCAA Division II teams, voted 24th in the week four American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division II Coaches' Poll.
The national-ranking comes just prior to the Golden Bears (4-0 overall, 1-0 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East Division) trip to take on Bloomsburg (1-3, 0-1) Saturday, Oct. 5, at 2 p.m.

Kutztown's road winning streak of 11 games is the fifth longest in all of Division II.

Tyler Borg (Lititz, Pa./Lititz Christian) caught a two-yard touchdown pass from
Collin DiGalbo (Secane, Pa./Monsignor Bonner) with 14 seconds remaining to give Kutztown a 34-27 road victory over Shepherd, last Saturday, in the PSAC East opener for both teams.

Defensively,
Shawn Turber-Ortiz (Northumberland, Pa./Shikellamy) finished with a career-high 16 tackles, all solo, to go along with his two interceptions. He was recognized as the PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week for the second time this season, and the fourth consecutive week that KU had a representative receive the award.

KU ranks fourth in the PSAC, scoring 39.5 points per game (ppg), while the Huskies are 13th at 19.3. The Golden Bear defense is giving up just 20.3 ppg and is sixth, while Bloomsburg is 10th at 30.5.

Last season, Kutztown came out on top 44-10 against Bloomsburg. The Huskies have lost their last two games by an average of 14.5 points.
