Brady Wert completed his second year as an assistant coach with the Kutztown University track & field programs in 2017-18.
A former decathlete at Slippery Rock, Wert works with hurdles, sprints, jumps and multi events.
Wert has guided a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Indoor Champion, a national qualifier and five All-Region performances in the high jump.
Prior to KU, Wert came off two years as a graduate assistant coach at Saint Francis (PA), where he obtained his Masters in Business Administration. He coached the jumps in his first year, and moved to the sprints and hurdles in his second year. During his time with the Red Flash, he coached three conference champions – two in the high jump and one in the pole vault. He also coached an NCAA Division I regional qualifier and a USA Track & Field junior national qualifier in the 400m hurdles.
He has a strong background in the PSAC, as he competed and coached at Slippery Rock University for six years. He graduated from Slippery Rock in May 2011, when he received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a specialty in marketing. After graduating, Wert remained at Slippery Rock as a volunteer coach for the track & field team.
While at Slippery Rock, Wert coached four-All America athletes, three individual PSAC champions, one team PSAC Championship, three PSAC runner-up teams, and two individual runner-ups.
As a Division II athlete on the Slippery Rock track & field team, Wert was a three-time NCAA qualifier, a three-time PSAC champion and a six-time All-PSAC honoree. In 2010, Wert held the heptathlon record at Slippery Rock.
