Alex Artus enters his sixth season as the Kutztown University women's rugby coach in 2024-25.
Artus graduated from Kutztown in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in political science and a minor in history. He has played rugby since high school, competing on multiple high school select sides before attending KU.
At Kutztown, Artus played for the Golden Bears for three years before being sidelined by surgery his senior year. During his recovery, he began his foray into coaching by assisting the Golden Bear women’s team.
Artus served as head coach of Millersville University men’s club team in the fall of 2016, before returning to Kutztown in 2017-18 to take over head coaching duties for Golden Bear women's program. After four seasons at the helm, Artus stepped away following the 2021-22 season. He reclaimed the head coaching position prior to the 2023-24 season.
