Tony Dodds

Tony Dodds is in his 19th season as the pole vault coach for the Golden Bear track & field programs in 2024-25.

The Golden Bears indoor team placed fourth at PSACs during 2022-23. their best finish since 2018-19 when they were third. While at Kutztown, Dodds has coached six All-Americans: Will Hodges, Justin Germani, Lanny Buck, Emma Sullivan, Brandon Raguz, Joe Jardine) along with seven PSAC champions: Kelly Strickland, Hodges, Germani, Percell Berry, Buck, Sullivan and Jardine.
 
On the men's side, Buck was a two-time PSAC champion, three-time NCAA national qualifier and 2015 All-American. On the women's side, Sullivan was a PSAC indoor champion, two-time national qualifier, 2016 All-American and the school's indoor and outdoor record-holder. In 2012-13, Dodds' athletes combined for four top-three finishes at the PSAC Indoor and Outdoor Championships.

In 2011, Dodds coached Germani to a ninth-place finish at the NCAA Division II Championships and had two other student-athletes tie for second at the PSAC Championships. He also coached the PSAC runner-up on the women's side, Rachel Schaefer, at the conference outdoor championships in 2011.

Dodds previously coached at the scholastic level in Berks County at Exeter Township High School and Wilson High School. He vaulted at the collegiate level for Penn State.
