KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Senior defender
Maura Day (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Abington) provided the game-tying goal in the 61st minute of the second half Wednesday evening at Keystone Field, helping Kutztown battle Millersville to a 1-1 draw in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East Division matchup at Keystone Field.

The Golden Bears (7-1-2, 5-1-1 PSAC East) fought through a back-and-forth first half, recording three shots, including two on goal. The Marauders (5-2-3, 3-2-2 PSAC East) recorded one shot, with neither side able to break through before halftime.

Millersville struck first in the 58th minute when Aubrey Strohecker found the back of the net off an assist from Lia Francis to give the Marauders a 1-0 lead.

Three minutes later, Kutztown responded as Day unleashed an unassisted shot from 35 yards out that found the upper-right corner of the net, tying the game at 1-1.

KU continued to pressure Millersville throughout the second half, finishing the game with a 10-6 advantage in shots and a 6-2 edge in shots on goal. The Golden Bears also held a 2-0 advantage in corner kicks. Neither team was able to find a go-ahead goal in the final minutes with the match ending in a 1-1 draw.

Kutztown will remain at home this weekend at Keystone Field to take on Shepherd, with kickoff set for 1 p.m.
