Golden Bear Lacrosse has best finish to a season in program history, ranking 11th nationally

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – With the Division II women's lacrosse season ending last Saturday with Florida Southern College winning the national championship, the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association came out with its final national rankings to end the 2026 season and Kutztown was voted 11th, its highest finish to a season in program history.

Kutztown appeared as high as 10 back in 2024, but ended that season 12th in the national poll.

The Golden Bears (16-7 overall) made their first appearance in the NCAA DII quarterfinals earlier this month after capturing the first two national tournament wins in program history with their 12-8 first round victory over Wingate (May 7) and 9-6 second round triumph over top-seeded and previously unbeaten Slippery Rock (May 9). KU finished as PSAC runners-up for the second time in the last three years and qualified for the NCAA Tournament for the third time in the last four seasons. The Golden Bears' 16 wins are a new program single-season record, surpassing the former record of 15 set in 2024 (15-6).
