KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Senior defender
Summer Davis (Beach Haven, N.J./Southern Regional) added a second All-American recognition to her resume as she was named a Third Team All-American by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association, announced Wednesday.
Â
Davis was also named Third Team All-America by USA Lacrosse Magazine last week. She has also been named a First Team All-PSAC selection and was on the IWLCA All-Atlantic Region First Team. Davis is the third Golden Bear in program history to be a consensus All-American, joining Cyrose Conteh and
Sam Graf (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Hills).
Â
Davis led Kutztown in ground balls (70), caused turnovers (77) and draw controls (48) this season. She also finished on top of the PSAC in caused turnovers per game (3.54), while ranked fifth in the conference in ground balls per game (3.04). Earlier this season, she broke the all-time career caused turnover record with 160, finishing with 184 for her career, and also holds the single-season record with 77. Davis also ranks third all-time at Kutztown with 199 career ground balls.
Â
Kutztown made its first appearance in the NCAA DII quarterfinals last weekend after capturing the first two national tournament wins in program history with its 12-8 first round victory over Wingate (May 7) and 9-6 second round triumph over top-seeded and previously unbeaten Slippery Rock (May 9). KU finished as PSAC runners-up for the second time in the last three years and qualified for the NCAA Tournament for the third time in the last four seasons. The Golden Bears' 16 wins are a new program single-season record, surpassing the former record of 15 set in 2024 (15-6).
