KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Kutztown senior defender
Rowan Hall (Sloatsburg, N.Y./Suffern) has been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East Defensive Athlete of the Week, the organization announced Wednesday afternoon, marking the second time in her career she has earned the honor and giving the Golden Bears their second defensive award in as many weeks.
Hall wreaked havoc on the defensive end in a pair of games this week for No. 20 Kutztown (2-1). The senior currently ranks second in the PSAC and fourth in all of NCAA Division II in caused turnovers per game, while also sitting third in the PSAC in ground balls per game.
In Kutztown's 17-5 victory over Frostburg State, Hall contributed two ground balls and two caused turnovers. She followed that up with a dominant performance against No. 9 Pace, recording a game-high five caused turnovers and three ground balls. Hall also added a draw control and a shot on goal across the two games.
Through three games this season, Hall has amassed 12 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers.
Hall previously won the award during her freshman season. The recognition follows goalkeeper
Marisa Bragg's (Ringoes, N.J./Hunterdon Central) PSAC East Co-Defensive Athlete of the Week honor last week.
The Golden Bears begin their spring break road trip Thursday, facing No. 22 Saint Anselm at 2 p.m., before traveling to Bentley on Saturday at noon.
