Erin Lee named assistant athletic director for compliance

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Kutztown University director of athletics Renee Hellert announced the appointment of Erin Lee as the assistant athletic director for compliance on Thursday morning. Lee will start her new role on April 20.

Lee joins the Golden Bears after serving fellow Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference member Shepherd University as its assistant athletic director for internal operations and compliance since 2023 and senior woman administrator since 2025.

Lee will oversee all aspects of NCAA compliance on Hellert's administrative team, including eligibility, rules interpretations, financial aid, recruiting and education.

"We are excited to welcome Erin to Kutztown University," Hellert said. "Erin brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in the area of compliance and will reinforce our strong culture of transparency, integrity, and commitment to student-athlete success.  She will be a tremendous asset to our administrative team and help move our department forward."

During her time at Shepherd, Lee fulfilled numerous roles and responsibilities within the athletic department. In addition to her compliance and SWA positions, she advised the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). She also spent time as the director of game day operations and marketing after serving a two-year stint as a athletic administration graduate assistant.

Lee served on the NCAA Regional Advisory Committee for women's volleyball and the PSAC Championship Committee.

Lee is familiar with the PSAC, not only from her previous role at Shepherd, but from her time as an undergraduate student at Slippery Rock University.

Lee was the head intern for The Rock football program, supervising a staff of 12 interns and assisting with the team's day-to-day operations.

Lee graduated from Slippery Rock in 2021 with a bachelor's degree in sport management. She earned her master's degree in college student development and administration from Shepherd in 2023.
