KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Senior pitcher
Amanda Slabicki (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) threw a gem last Friday afternoon in game two of a sweep over Mansfield. Monday afternoon, her effort was recognized by the conference office as she was selected for her first Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division Pitcher of the Week honor.
Â
Slabicki helped Kutztown to the win by throwing a complete game shutout, allowing just five hits, while striking out six and walking just one batter, throwing only 62 pitches. The Mounties never had a runner reach further than second base all game, and that only happened twice. She has won her last two starts.
Â
The Golden Bears (11-9 overall, 2-0 PSAC East) are currently sporting a season-long four-game win streak. They will play six games this week, all on the road in East play. KU will first take on East Stroudsburg Tuesday beginning at 1 p.m.
