KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Senior goalkeeper
Marisa Bragg (Ringoes, N.J./Hunterdon Central) has been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East Co-Defensive Athlete of the Week, the organization announced Wednesday, marking the first weekly honor for the Golden Bears in the 2026 season.
Bragg earned the honor after a dominant performance in No. 20 Kutztown's historic 14-1 season-opening victory over IUP on Feb. 21. The senior posted a 90.9% save percentage, recording 10 saves while leading the Golden Bears to just their third single-goal defensive outing in program history since 2008.
The performance marked the first time Kutztown has held an opponent to one goal since an 18-1 victory over Felician on March 4, 2017. Bragg's stellar play between the pipes currently ranks her first among all NCAA Division II goalkeepers in save percentage.
Beyond her work in the cage, Bragg contributed across the stat sheet with five ground balls and a caused turnover, showcasing her complete game in the dominant non-conference win. The recognition marks the second PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week honor of Bragg's career.
Bragg and the Golden Bears return to action later this afternoon, hosting Frostburg State at 4 p.m. on Keystone Field.
